Google Question #1- John Garrity

The value that Google crates for its customers and advertisers is top of the line and a leader in the field. Google’s index offers billions of web pages for their customers, but at the same time, narrowing down your search to the correct information you’re looking for. Depicting the useful websites from the trivial websites, Google uses their BackRub technology to do so. Their idea soon created a stir, accommodating customers with the best and more informational websites listed first when applying a search. Google also does a great job accommodating advertisers with enticing strategies to suit their needs. Google sells to advertisers the words that people put in when they search for something on the web. In comparison, the words themselves generate money for advertisers as well. Advertisers have an opportunity to bid on the words to see which order they will show up when a customer enters the words into the search engine; therefore creating business for both Google and advertising companies. The value of the services Google offers creates profit because it suits the needs of surrounding companies and assets. Implementing the creative ideas such as the BackRub approach, Google’s success has risen every year and will continue to do so for years to come.

Google question #2: Tyler Bishop Google has many sources of competitive advantages. They have researched and talked with their competitors. In doing this they understand what they can do to be better and more efficient from their competitors. Google wants to be the best and fastest search engine available for their customers, anything short of that is unacceptable. Besides being the fastest search engine Google wants to be very accurate with their searches, this is crucial for competitive advantage because if Google’s customers can’t find what they are looking for, they will turn to another search engine. Google continues to separate themselves from their competitors do to their impressive performance the past few years.

Google Question #3 - Danielle O'Neill
Yahoo and Microsoft have the assets and capabilities that give them an advantage over Google because they are both well known companies that currently are in the search engine business. These companies also have been operating longer, and also have revenue from other business ventures such as Windows, MSN.com, Yahoo.com, and software. These web pages have made money from paid advertisements from other companies for banners on their sites. I believe that competitors such as Yahoo and Microsoft began their search engine businesses with one foot in the door, whereas Google created a multimillion dollar company from the ground-up.
